Privacy
Last updated: March 2026
This privacy policy describes how Lens collects, uses, and stores information when you use the product. It is intended to reflect the current behavior of the service as it exists today.
Information we collect
Lens currently collects only the data needed to operate search, accounts, billing, and account preferences.
- Account data, such as your email address, account identifier, and authentication records
- Password and recovery data, including password hashes and password reset tokens
- Billing data stored by Lens, such as Stripe customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, plan status, and renewal state
- Preference data, such as Safe Search and Deep Search settings
- Usage data stored by Lens, such as daily search counts used for plan enforcement
Local browser storage and essential cookies
Lens uses browser-based storage for product functionality. Search history, theme preference, and Safe Search preference are stored locally in your browser. Lens also uses essential authentication and session mechanisms needed to keep you signed in and secure your account.
Lens does not currently use analytics, advertising, or marketing trackers in the frontend codebase. If that changes, this privacy policy should be updated accordingly.
How we use information
Lens uses personal information only to operate and secure the service, including to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Authenticate users and maintain active sessions
- Process subscriptions and manage billing state
- Enforce plan limits and feature eligibility
- Store product preferences and improve account continuity across sessions
- Send password reset or account-related emails
- Respond to support, privacy, billing, or account requests
Third-party service providers
Lens relies on third-party providers to operate the product. Depending on the feature you use, those providers may process data on our behalf.
- Authentication and session infrastructure
- Stripe for subscription billing and payment processing
- Email delivery infrastructure for password reset and account email flows
- Hosted database and infrastructure providers used to run the application
Data retention
Lens retains account, billing, preference, and usage data for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal or financial obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the product. Search history stored in your browser remains there until you clear it or remove local browser storage.
Security
Lens uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the current product, including authenticated access controls, password hashing, session handling, and established third-party providers for billing and account infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and in some jurisdictions to request data portability or information about how personal data is processed.
Lens does not currently provide an automated self-service privacy dashboard for these requests. To make a privacy request, contact support@lensquery.com from the email address associated with your account.
Children's privacy
Lens is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy over time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, the updated policy will be posted here.
